As 'roe intimates, many of us have emotional ties to the place, like a house you move from out of that had happy memories. Nothing wrong with showing some emotion towards something that's important to you. Usual soulless keyboard warriors being cunts as per usual.

It's not as simple to say it's just football or a football ground and it's not wrong for people to show emotion, of course our hardened internet warriors wont.
The only real memories I have of my grandfather are from the times we spent at the Boleyn and having had such highs and lows there of course I have a strong, emotion tie to the place. A massive part of my life has been spent there and my head is full of all those childhood memories connected to the place.

Crying about leaving a football ground is just about as absurd as it gets.

Was that the 3-3 draw when we equalised in the last minute after several pitch invasions?

Liverpool in the FA Cup was my farewell match...and what a way to sign off. I do, however, have a stadium tour booked for April, which I'm rather looking forward to.

Done 2 "last" visits and planning a third. I work in London in the week so can get along to midweek games. Saw a dreary win against Villa first. Reflections were mixed. Emotional in a way but place showing its age and couldn't even get a pie at half time. Then went back for a Hospitality thingy for the Liverpool replay. Special night. So trying to do it again for the last home match against Man Utd.

2 young kids crying after relegation is a bit difficult deferent to shedding a tear as you walk out the stadium for the last time.
